Celtic way to Santiago de Compostela

I will never tire of it! Walking the ancient pilgrimage of St James along the CAMINO route to Santiago de Compostela in northern spain.  Everytime I walk it I notice new things and have different experiences.  Each and everyone of them better than the last.

It all comes down to the people you meet, the bonds and friendships you form the fun, laughter and the sharing of one's life experiences along the way that make this such a unique journey.

Having the opportunity to walk for a couple of weeks, put the rest of your world on hold and just exist in the simplicity of the day is what allows you to feel like you have had a fully rejuvenating experience even if you have challenged your body on a physical level.

On the material level the food, wine, accommodation, scenery and history are inspiring, delicious and nurturing.  On a deeper level nature performs its magic along with the sacred energy that is found on the ancient pilgrims walk.

What a fantastic group we had - we laughed and laughed and laughed.  If it wasn't for Ricardo the guide spinning a yarn it was one of the group who were all comedians in their own way.  The words "another flatly-undulating hill" ring in the distance as we soon became used to Ricardo describing our walk for the day!  Flatly-undulating- how could there be such a thing?  Interpreted this meant - the odd hill here or there or a bigger hill than anticipated!  At least there was a famous spanish gin and tonic waiting at the end - they sure know how to pour a good drink!

Amazing achievements were conquered for some who were more physically challenged than others.  The encouragement from the group and sheer determination from the individuals allowed us all to walk the route and get that very important piece of paper at the end of it.

I am allready looking forward to getting back on this amazing trail in 2010....why don't you come and join us and experience for yourself the most fantastic journey of a lifetime!

EXCITING NEW TOUR DESTINATION....HOME OF THE ABORIGINE PEOPLE, ARNHEM LAND in the Northern Territories, Australia

This is an area I have been wanting to explore for some time and finally i had the opportunity to get myself on an exploratory trip in August of this year.  Wow......it exceeded my expectations way beyond what i had envisioned.  Since my return home I have also realised how powerful the journey was, the people we spent time with, the land that we traversed.

The indigenous Aborigine people have much knowledge to share and spending 3 days with the aborigine healing women at Bawaka was a magical experience that touched the soul.  The simplicity of their life, their skills both on the land and their existence within the western world is quite outstanding.

As one of my friends on the tour said...it is so primal....taking you back to the basics and what it is you are most appreciating or seeking  out of life at this time.  They have this way of bringing this to the fore without you consciously looking for it.
For those of you who want to partake in an adventure, see an area that is still  not widely tapped with tourists, connect with the depth and knowing that the Aborigine people own, then this is truly an experience that will fullfill all of those desires.

Immersing ourselves and becoming one with the land was how we began our journey as we travelled the central Arnhem road.  The deep red of the soil, the blue haze that lined the trees and the watering holes where the wildlife sat unperturbed as a car drove past became the norm.  With the road stretching as far as the naked eye could see and passing through the occasional settlement we knew we were getting closer to spending our precious time with the Aborigine Healing Women.  In hindsight we realized it was all part of the build up allowing us to have been introduced subtly to where it was that we were going.

Once at Bawaka the only word that could describe the place is idyllic...a private bay out on the end of a peninsula, white white sand, blue blue water and no one else but us and the four generation of women we were about to spend the next three days with.......

We will be offering a tour to this area in August 2010 and hope to travel around the dates of the Darwin Festival which is fantastic!  Two weeks of music, theatre, dance and art.
